Do you install LED strips and tape?
Yes, LED strip lighting is one of our most versatile installations. We install high-quality LED tape in coves, under cabinets, behind mirrors, and along staircases. Professional installation includes aluminium channels with diffusers for even light distribution, proper power supply sizing, and controller integration for dimming and colour changing. All strips are specified with accurate colour rendering and consistent colour temperature across the length.
Can you retrofit LED lighting into existing fittings?
In many cases, yes. GU10 and MR16 halogen downlights can often be replaced with LED retrofits that fit the same holders. However, older transformers may not be compatible with LED lamps and may need replacement. We assess your existing fittings during the consultation and specify the correct LED replacements or recommend new fittings where retrofits are unsuitable. All retrofit work includes testing for compatibility and performance.
How long do LED lights last?
Quality LED lamps typically last 25,000 to 50,000 hours, equivalent to 15 to 20 years of normal residential use. Unlike halogen or incandescent bulbs that fail suddenly, LEDs gradually dim over time. We specify premium brands with published lumen maintenance curves and 5-year warranties. Proper dimmer matching, adequate ventilation, and correct driver selection all contribute to maximising LED lifespan.
